GCSE & A-Level · Physics and Maths
One-to-one tuition from a physics graduate whose day job has been building models that have to be right. That same skillset now applied to helping students genuinely understand the subject, not just get through their exams.
Subjects
Together we will create sessions built around your exam board’s specification. AQA, Edexcel, OCR and WJEC are all covered.
Forces, energy, waves and electricity built from first principles rather than asking students to memorise formula lists.
Algebra, geometry and statistics with a focus on the problem-solving questions that separate grade boundaries.
Mechanics, EM fields, quantum and further mechanics taught by someone who studied astrophysics
Pure, mechanics and statistics modules, with steady past-paper practice and clear exam technique.
Approach
Every student arrives at a subject differently, so we’ll start with finding out what isn’t clicking and build from there.
A first session to see where the gaps actually are, not just which topic is "next" on the specification.
Work from first principles to understand the core concepts. So that questions still make sense when the exam asks them differently.
Past papers and mark schemes, with a close eye on where marks are actually lost.
Regular feedback to parents or students on progress, and where the next session should focus.
About me
As a young child I loved asking “why?” While I’m sure this drove my mum insane, my curiosity led me to the sciences as one way to understand the world that we live in. I especially loved the subject of Physics and was lucky enough to study it at the University of Southampton between 2011 and 2015. It was here, alongside my degree, that I first began tutoring for Bright Spark Tuition as a way to earn some income and pass on what had been taught to me.
Tutoring brought me a sense of fulfilment beyond just problem solving. Building a close rapport and watching others grow was something I always enjoyed. After I graduated from my Masters, tutoring unfortunately had to take a back seat. I started my career working for the Ministry of Defence as a Systems Engineer and I learnt a great deal but ultimately I missed the technical and conceptual challenges that had drawn me to Physics in the first place.
That thirst for technical work led me to explore programming as a career and I moved into the energy industry as a developer building pricing engines. I spent four and a half years in the role and found the work fascinating, but I ultimately wanted greater agency over my time and long‑term direction.
In 2026 I returned to tutoring. I had recently rediscovered a passion for art and for video game development and so made the decision to begin supporting myself through teaching while working towards a lifelong goal of becoming an independent game developer.
I have learnt a lot along my journey, both in terms of the challenges involved with navigating an education system that values grades above understanding but also about how much it matters to find your own way forward in life.
So as well as preparing students to pass their exams, I want to help them build confidence in their own thinking. Together we can work on developing exam strategies, conceptual understanding and discipline that will carry far beyond the classroom.
